Anchor of Hope Day Camp 2005

102 children, ages 4 years through 6th grade, attended the Anchor of Hope day camp, sponsored by Living Word with the help of counselors from Camp Philip, on August 8 and 9, 2005.

Camp opened each morning session with a visit from Kody the bear (Kodiak) and the entire camp singing God's praises through song. The enthusiasm was overwhelming!

Anchor of Hope campers

Each day, campers rotated through five different "activity cabins": adventure, crafts, games, storytelling, and snack.

Adventures in teamwork

The adventure cabin tested the campers' ability with teamwork skills, a good test as we are learning to work together as Christians.

In crafts, campers made prayer rocks and gospel bracelets.

Some stayed cool in the shade, while the game cabin provided a little relief from the heat with water games.

Campers heard about the story of Noah from an animated Pastor Borgwardt.

The snack cabin provided an opportunity to make Garden of Eden fruit salad and gooey, sticky kisses from God.

Singing along with Brian Davidson

Interactive singing with Brian Davidson

We enjoyed special interactive Christian music with Brian Davidson from the St. Marcus band (Koine) during lunchtime.

Posing wearing Anchor of Hope t-shirts

All the campers wore their Anchor of Hope t-shirts on the second day of camp.

Each day closed with another visit from Kody and with singing songs like, "The Crocodile Song" and "Anchor of Hope".
