News from ChIL Headquarters
ChIL is back from sabbatical!
Since ChIL's conception last year, four of the main members had weddings to plan, a graduation from college, and new jobs. Needless to say, things have been busy. However, that is not an excuse, merely an explanation of ChIL's apparent lack of enthusiasm. Now that things have settled down a bit, the group is formulating plans as you are reading this...
To avoid confusion, ChIL will wait a week or two to release new events, meeting times, and a roster. I can assure you that as a group, we are raising the bar of quality and organization by putting details in writing and creating a "constitution" and mission statement which will maintain the group's level of commitment.
Stay tuned and thanks for your patience.
Your brother in Christ,
Dave Savatski
ChiL founder & humble servant
What is ChIL?
ChIL stands for "Church Isn't Lame!" ChIL is a group of young Christians -- mostly aged 18 to 29 -- who want to have fun and enjoy each other's company the way Jesus wants them to.
We want to show our current and future friends that church and religion and God and Jesus and everything related to them really isn't lame. It's exciting and interesting and important and fun.
Membership in ChIL has almost no requirements. You might want to be in that 18-29 age range. You should enjoy getting out of the house to have fun with others. You should like at least a few social activities -- bowling, paint ball, games, etc. And you might also want to learn from each other by discussing topics of mutual interest.
ChIL is definitely not limited to members of Living Word or any other church. If you know someone who is already part of the group, ask them if you can join. (The answer will be "yes.") Current members are likewise encouraged to bring friends who are not yet members to one or more activities or meetings.
Check out the other ChIL pages for upcoming events, past activities, and ways to contact ChIL.
